Anybody have any suggestions or ideas for tuning HAVP?

I currently have it set up as a parent of my transparent squid install.  Scanning file size is 1MB.  I have ram disk enabled.  I also enabled the request range option, which made things faster, but they're still not speedy.

If I turn off HAVP, youtube videos load very quickly.  I'll get a traffic burst of 4-6mbps and then no more traffic.

If I turn HAVP on, I get a smaller initial burst, maybe 2-3mbps.  Then I get a steady 1mbps until the video finishes loading.  Usually at a speed not much faster than realtime.

I still have memory free, and both cores of my processor are at over 80% idle.  I'm running intel gigE cards.  What else could be causing the lag?

I recognize that I'll have a performance hit due to the AV, with how big a one dependent on the hardware.  What I'm trying to determine is why it's not using my hardware.  Is there a bottleneck elsewhere in the system?

Unfortunately, I can't seem to get on their forum.  I registered, but it won't send me an activation email.
