      I have successfully installed pfsense with squid and squidguard and was working fine, but today after two months while am restarting it took a 15 Mins for package sysncing ..i think squid logs are creating issues….any idea???

        What version number of pfSense and exactly what were the messages about package syncing?

          i am using pfsense 1.2.3 , and while booting package syncing : squid,squid cache,squid traffic, squidguard etc…and i felt that when the time of installation its boot time is less than 3 mins and after using it increased to 10 mins ...is it will increase day by day?

              It's not necessarily anything to do with Squid, but possibly something else. At some point a Dev will no doubt be along to help you diagnose what's wrong with your install.

                  Any body tel me what is the booting time of pfsense with squid and squidguard after using it one or two months??? i have made several installations and test the same thing, while booting it shows package syncing: squid squidcache squidnac squid squidtraffic squidupstream squidauth squidusers squidguard etc,  each taking more than 10 mins.

                    Reinstall squid. I made a change yesterday that will considerably speed it up on systems with a sizable cache.

                    It had been doing a recursive chown/chgrp on everything in the cache, which wasn't really needed and took a l-o-n-g time on systems with large caches.

                      what is the ideal Hard disk cache size in squid -pfsense???

                        That's all up to you and your environment. If you have a very large hdd, you could have a very large squid cache :-)
