Today I've attached and enabled serial console on my pfSense boxes, I've noticed that there is much more output on serial console than on VGA console, ie. on serial there is menu from which I may select safe mode, single mode etc. while VGA console only displays kernel bootup, and after root fs mount there is nothing displayed until login prompt appears. Is this normal behavior or should I get same output on VGA and serial?

Only one console can be the "primary" console and the other doesn't get all of the output. When the serial console is enabled, that is considered the primary console. When the serial console is disabled, all of the output goes to the VGA console.

I've figured it from sources already, but thanks for your answer.
