Intel PRO/1000 GT Quad Port Server Adapter
-
I know(now) that is card isn't supported by the version of the em driver in pfSense, but is there any chance of getting a newer version of the em driver in the next release? Also has anyone gotten it to work by rolling their own copy with a newer version of the em driver? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I spent alot of time backporting this driver for a bounty that was offered and subsequently not paid. Since there was no further interest in it, that work was rm'd. Nobody else is terribly interested in doing this work, you'll need to wait until FreeBSD 6.2 releases and our subsequent release based on 6.2.

I tried this snapshot to investigate a problem I'm having with the Intel PRO/1000 MT Dual Port card & CARP.
Booting from the Embedded image, I got the following on the console:
ata2: <siliconsystems ver2.00="">at port 0x2000-0x200f irq 11 function 0 config 1 on pccard0
Trying to mount root from ufs:/dev/ufs/pfSenseManual root filesystem specification:
<fstype>:<device>Mount <device>using filesystem <fstype>eg. ufs:da0s1a
? List valid disk boot devices
<empty line="">Abort manual inputmountroot></empty></fstype></device></device></fstype></siliconsystems>

After I posted, I noticed that there was a 12/12 build as well. I used pfsense.img.gz from ~sulrich, which I believe is the embedded image.
I get the same result as with 12/11. Hitting ? at the mountroot prompt displays zero boot devices.
Entering nothing causes the following:
panic: Root mount failed, startup aborted.
