Multiple Subnets single interface
-
Hi Everyone,
For 2.0, is the procedure the same to add multiple subnets to a single interface as 1.2.3? Or is there a place in the GUI for this?
Thanks

You can add alias type VIPs now under firewall –> Virtual IPs.
So yes this is in the gui now. -
So IP Alias is just another title for "Additional Subnet"?
Thanks

No.
But the procedure to add another subnet on 1.2.3 included adding an alias via modifying the config.xml and adding <shellcmd>commands.
When you create the alias type VIP you can configure it to have an IP outside the range of the interface on which the VIP resides.
The VIPs in the GUI on 1.2.3 which could be used by the pfSense all required them to be in the same range than the host interface.</shellcmd> -
You may also need to switch to manual outbound NAT and add a rule to NAT for the IP alias network. Last I remember, we don't add automatic outbound NAT rules for IP alias subnets. (yet?)
