I have no prior experience of installing pfsense. i have downloaded the following files.
pfSense-1.2.3-RELEASE-LiveCD-Installer.iso
and
pfSense-1.2.3-RELEASE-LiveCD-Installer.iso.gz.md5

what should i do next, and i need ur detail explanations,if u can!!

Tnx Perry, I found the Documentation very helpful!!
but i still have one more question: after i have downloaded the files, do i need Internet connection for completion? or it is like installing other operating systems?

Yes like installing a operating system.
Needs to be install on a separate pc with two network cards (Just so you don't delete anything important).

doc.pfsense.org and forum search is your friend.
If your new to networking and pfSense, the book will really help you out.
