New computer for Pfsense
-
Just in case the old hardware of our pfsense dies, will Freebsd be able to recognize the new hardware that I'm going to put it on?

More than likely pfSense will recognise most of your new hardware. Your chances will be much improved if you use something that has been around at least a year or rather than something just released, though it can be hard to tell how long addon NICs have been available.
If you can be more specific about the new hardware you are more likely to get more confident answers (e.g. xzy worked for me).

There is generally no trouble moving to new hardware. You may have to reassign the network cards if your interface types change from one system to another but otherwise it should be fine.

So if I have an identical barebones machine on-site someone local can swap hardware 1:1 it should power on same as the old machine (except new mobo MACs)?

Yes
