        That sounds like a hardware bug. Make sure you have the newest BIOS, and afterwards try resetting the BIOS to default settings in case something screwy is configured in there.

          issue was lack of ACPI  support, ultimately edited the config to boot without acpi.

          could this not be an auto detect rather that defaulting to acpi?
