Is the only upgrade path on alix boards to just burn the new image to a CF and physically swap it with the 1.2.3 CF card then restore the config. I looked at the upgrade guide but it wasn't clear to me what the upgrade paths are for embedded alix boards.

      Can someone clarify?

From 1.2.3 to 2.0 on NanoBSD you can upgrade normally. Either via the manual GUI update or a console update by URL. The only option that will not work from 1.2.3 to 2.0 is auto update.

I have the same question. So if I understand well to upgrade from 1.2.3 on a CF Card with an 4g-nanobsd image, I just need to use the pfSense-Full-Update-2.0-RELEASE-i386.tgz file ? or should I use the pfSense-2.0-RELEASE-4g-i386-nanobsd-upgrade.img.gz file ?

          Thanks for the clarification !

            pfSense-2.0-RELEASE-4g-i386-nanobsd-upgrade.img.gz

You always need to use the upgrade image that matches what you used to install.
