Install while isp is not connected
-
I just would like to ask if there's a way to install pfSense without ISP connected to it. I'll be migrating our firewall to pfSense and I need to configure pfSense first so that the downtime would be minimal before I could switch the cable.

Standard install on a bare machine doesn't require any connection to the internet or to an ISP.

Thanks. I'll install again. Probably got misunderstood something on my 1st installation

You cannot install packages from the internet without a connection there from WAN interface.
Well, it's a long time ago since I checked that on 1.2.3 and maybe it has changed in the meantime with 2.0RCs.
But who knows better than you, Wallabybob?

You cannot install packages from the internet without a connection there from WAN interface. True. But I don't recall any packages being required unless one or more packages is selected for installation.
