      pfsense box- 192.168.1.254

i pointed my computer to 192.168.1.254 for the gateway (right now a router does dhcp, dns, etc…i dont want to cause interference with the other PCs on the network until i figure out the CP).

i activated CP and started with local user access (yes, i created a local user) with a redirect to yahoo.com (my home page is google.com and i wanted to make sure it redirected properly).

i see the CP default login and i attempt with my test user...nothing.  i click ok/submit and it just reloads the cp default login page.

i tried to set no authentication and the same page pops up.

      any help is appreciated.

      thanks.

            used these:

            http://doc.pfsense.org/smiller/Captive_Portal.htm

i can get to the CP default splash screen, but regardless if i have no authentication or local users for authentication, it just stays on the page if i click continue or put in the correct u/p and try to proceed.

if i set no authentication, should the default splash page still come up and allow the user to login w/o and credentials?  obviously if i were using this in a real environment and i needed to have a splash page, i could create a page that said "welcome to …..., please click continue, ok....to proceed"

            thanks.

thanks for those links.  i have seen them already, but still handy and useful.

setting it up doesnt seem to be the issue.  at least, i dont think it is, but i could be wrong.  i followed the tutorial that i posed above and i am getting to the CP login screen.  getting past that is the issue i am having.

I know that this is old topic but I met this issue and solved with these steps.

On the interfaces WAN page unchecked  FTP Helper and changing firewall automatic outbound NAT to Manual .

thanks for the reply.  FTP helper has 3 options, do i un-check all 3?
