PPTP Problem after upgrade

Hey all,
Lastnight i auto invoked the upgrade from :
2.0-RC3 (amd64)
built on Mon Jul 4 16:49:48 EDT 2011to:

built on Mon Aug 8 11:20:47 EDT 2011After the upgrade i was no longer able to connect to my server, so when i got to my office this morning i had to hit restart on the box.. It went through a bunch of fixing and then finally came back up.. It Is working as normal it seems, says it is on the new version but.. since this, i am no longer able to VPN in from my house, as i used to. it is PPTP that i have setup, apart from this software upgrade i havent changed anything else. I can still connect to the VPN and can still ping 192.168.10.1 when connected, but cant open the GUI: https://192.168.10.1, and it gives me the correct IP that i assigned, but i can't load the GUI or login via SSH anymore. There is another new upgrade as of today but am kinda scared to do that.. Anyone have any ideas what has gone wrong?
Before i did the upgrade lastnight i saved the config. If i restore this, will it restore it to that old version with everything as it was?

built on Mon Aug 8 18:47:42 EDT 2011I got on from home this morning with no problems, but I am on i386 build. Maybe something with amd64bit?

There is a bug on PPTP amd64 that a fix was put lately.
But the fix was reverted because it impacts PPPoE. For now the only way to fix that is use i386 with PPTP.Sorry for that but hopefully will be fixed for 2.1

But my PPTP did work fine on x64 up until this last update..
is there any other way i can vpn in from my house to the pfsense box in my office if PPTP doesnt work? I use Windows 7 at home..

You could download one of the older snapshots and load your config or you can setup OpenVPN on the pfSense server.

if i load my old config will it fix the issue or break it?
i saved the config before upgrading this latest version

Ok, guess ill try find a tutorial to get openvpn going.. is openvpn a better option than PPTP anyways?

Yes it is, you can modify a lot with it. and if you think roadwarrior setup, you can set server to work on tcp 443, so almost none can alter that traffic
