Single port NIC card?

Looking for a single port PCI-E intel gigabit NIC card. Can't find one on Newegg and don't know enough about them to search eBay.
Any helpful suggestions are much appreciated.

Looks like that card is based on the Intel 82574L Gigabit Ethernet Controller. Could be wrong but looking at the hardware compatibility list, I don't see the 82574 as being supported.
I have tried google but apparently my search skills are lacking. I could not find a single port NIC compatible with pfsense. I would also like to know what other pfsense'ers are using and recommend.

search ebay for Pro 1000 and pick one. I use dual nics with the 82546 chips the pro 1000's use a 82544 chip , I think they are much the same. I know the old Pro 100's work fantastic.

The original poster asked for a PCIe card. From memory, all the 8254x chips are PCI while the 8257x chips are PCIe. The lower numbered 8257x chips should be OK with pfSense. Some of the higher numbered ones might be too new for the drivers in pfSense.

Pretty sure it is since that's what is used by this.

So even though the 82574 is not "officially" supported the Intel Gigabit CT Desktop Adapter EXPI9301CT will work?

Can someone else verify this? That would be great as I can find this card for $25 on the net.

Some newer em drivers have been backported from a more recent FreeBSD. JimP said it was done for a client, could have been Appliance Shop.
Perhaps here?Steve

A search of the forums for "82574" turned up this post http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,36515.0.html in which jwelter99 claimed the 82574L worked in a 30 minute test.
I don't know if 82574 is similar enough to 82574L. The same topic suggests 82579L is different enough from 82579LM.

Based on research I've done, the EXPI9301CT uses the 82574L. So if the 82574L worked then the EXPI9301CT should be good to go.
What do I have to lose except for the $25 for the card. I'll probably go ahead and try it.
