Squidguard + embedded, a solution?
-
Hi, I know its not supported… but it installs fine, the issue is blacklists get extracted to /var/ which on embedded has a limited space, so this breaks the system if the blacklist is too big, and even if its small on a reboot it will be gone.
I tried editing /usr/local/pkg/squidGuard.inc and /usr/local/pkg/squidGuard_configurator.inc and related files to change the path of blacklists, this allowed the lists to get extracted to a permanent directory just fine, but the issue is the default destination list on the webgui remains empty, nothing to chose from...
after giving up I also tried entering a list of domains and URL's manually, and it seems if a list is too big it doesn't work either...
I'm sure lots of people will be glad to find this package working fully on embedded, sadly I aint a PHP guru to make this fix...
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance ;D

Same problem. I reported in this thread…
http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,31717.0.html
I've tried various squid and squid configs, including changes to permission but can't seem to find a fix. I've asked the issue be forwarded to the lead developer for this package for comment and resolution.
