      Hi guys,

I'm trying to upgrade my 2.0-BETA5 (i386) (Feb 11) nanobsd 4g to the new RC (I tried auto-update and manual) but it fails after the reboot and the web interface tells me in the upper right corner:

"[[i]UpgadeFailure]pfsense upgrade has failed. Your system has been left in a usable state"

Is there any workaround for this? Do I have to update to RC1 first? Thank you very much for your help.

      Christian

You should be able to upgrade directly however a lot of changes have been comitted sinse Beta5.
Could it be to do with this?: http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,38687.0.html

The easiest thing for you to do is backup your config, install a new image and then restore. Unless you have some complex setup or have made extensive changes yourself (which would probably be overwritten by an upgrade anyway!).

Before re-imaging, try doing a console update by URL, and feed it the URL to a current snapshot update file such as:

          http://snapshots.pfsense.org/FreeBSD_RELENG_8_1/i386/pfSense_RELENG_2_0/updates/pfSense-2.0-RC3-4g-i386-20110911-2210-nanobsd-upgrade.img.gz

Back in the BETA days there were some issues with updates from the GUI, but I thought they were fixed by BETA5, perhaps not.

Thanks for your comments! It turned out to be my mistake because I tried to install the nanoBSD on a hdd and use a second partition for squid cache. I'm going to save the config and reinstall from scratch.
