      Hi Everyone,

I am familiar with the process of getting v1.2.3 nanobsd on Alix boards. Now, I want to try version 2.0 but I am unable to find links to any nanobsd snapshots. The link for download first of all goes to a blog page and I had to read a paragraph or two until I found a little link to:

      http://snapshots.pfsense.org/

But I don't see any nanobsd ones. Are there any of those available?

If not, how to get those on Alix or just wait until it's released?

      Thanks

          Thanks.

Is there a safer Beta version that I should use? I see that the packages are updated daily. Is this something like the SVN and TRUNK where today's Beta could be potentially all broken up?

          Thanks

Just "hit" the latest one. I usually read this forum first and see if there is any "show stoppers" why not to update to latest version. If there is something, I wait for a day or two and hope the issue is solved. I do the update about every two weeks.

If you're using a microdrive, you can easily install the full version if you like.  That's what I'm running.  Just attach the microdrive to whatever box you will boot the Live CD from (I use a VM), install to it, select embedded kernel option, include GRUB, and then do the following from serial console during first boot on ALIX after it tells you it can't find the root file system:

              1. Enter "ufs:/dev/ad0s1a"
              2. Setup your network interfaces, if needed
              3. From shell, edit /etc/fstab, change "da0" to "ad0", save
              4. Reboot

Thanks for the info but not using microdrive. I tend to stay away from any mechanical parts now-a-days. But it's good info to know. Actually will be of use for me for testing purposes.

Yes, that is exactly how it is. (though sometimes the builder is stopped then restarted if a known issue is found and fixed before it finishes)
