      Hiya,

I done an ipsec vpn between pfsense and a smoothwall and the connection comes fine.

Unfortunately after a wee while i think about 1 hour i believe it dies.

The only way to get it going is to restart the connection from the smoothwall side.

      I am running pfsense 2.0

      Anyone any ideas.

      Cheers,

      Raj

        I have just tried this

        http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,40285.0.html

        1.  Switched all tunnels to main mode.
        2.  Disabled DPD (Dead Peer Detection)

        Hope that will solve it.

        Raj

Pfsense 2.0 problems with IPSEC links that used to work fine with pfsense 1.2.3 are possibly related to strict DPD cookie checking by racoon 0.8, see http://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/1872

Well, you'd have to either grab the sources, patch it and build it yourself… or ask one of the people who build pfsense from source to build a new racoon executable with the patch for you, which you'll install in /usr/local/sbin
