Install Oracle OCI
-
Hello, is it possible to install oracle OCI for 10g???
I wanna to make some queries to a remote oracle serverThanks in advance
-
You want to run some queries from your router? ???
-
yeah, i want to retrieve some information from oracle db, like the allowed pages to access, and some more things, its just 1 or 2 small tables
-
Take a look in the FreeBSD package listing. See if there is a client there or an OCI driver.
-
OK I found some files, how can i make them to work??? ???
-
I'm at work so I can't really be that much help right now…If you found package files then you will able to install with pkg_add -r #URL#
-
Call this info you need from a php on other server.
It's better then instaling a lot of packages on your firewall.

OK, I found the packages, but how do I install them?? I never messed with FreeBSD before, I have read about a CVSup, but I cant use it
Edit:
btw I cant use Make :-\

Since pfSense is a firewall there are no compiling tools included, make gcc etc. It would only be an additional security risk.
If you need to compile for pfSense 2.0 you do it from a standard FreeBSD 8.1 install.
However, as tommyboy suggested, there are precompiled binaries available for many packages which can be installed directly to pfSense.Steve
Edit: Looking through the packages it looks like there may only be OCI8 clients available. :(
