Something I am confused where to write accurately about the problem. Still, 2.1 is not 2.0. :)

Any updates? :)
For time to time unbound stops resolving the correct dns it usually happens at night… very odd.... -
I have been away since getting back from the hackathon. I'll be back in action from Monday and will look into the problems.
Not sure why your unbound stops answering but try bump up the verbosity logging as that may give some indication to the problem you having. -
Wagonza Look this please (pfsense 2.1 amd 64)

Welcome back. -
Any updates wagonza?
Thanks.

:(
-
it has been rather quiet here hasnt it… :-\
Anyway Unbound package updated - there was a side affect of sorting out the dhcp leases problem that would cause Unbound to be stopped and never start up again. So to get around that I have added a unbound monitor which basically monitors Unbound in case of it been stopped.
All of this will disappear with Unbound in 2.1 - which I am working on.

Awesome!
Thank you. Will report back. I had the same issue when doing several things like adding dns masquerading, adding interfaces, renaming interfaces and some other ones.
will report back..
Thank You.

Please do, i need to iron out bugs for 2.1 integration so we can start using it without having to jump through hoops for certain features.

Wagonza,
The restart is not working. I found out after adding a static entry that unbound would not respawn.
-
I have installed unbound and the service kept on stopping by itself. As a test i only enabled the forwarder and left everything else on default. It did the same thing. I have snort, havp and ntop running as well. I disabled the other forwarder. I also noticed a slight delay when using unbound forwarder. A 1-3 second delay when doing dns lookups. I think this might be due to havp standard http proxy. I have not tried disabling that and trying it yet. Any ideas?
edit: it is definitely havp proxy that was slowing it down and potentially causing it to stop.
One more minor issue i noticed is that the installed packages widget takes about 15 seconds to load after installing unbound, could be a slow version look up or something?
-
Just a slight update, I have disabled the forwarding in unbound and just have dns sec enabled and havp running with a standard proxy and it works and remains stable but it still has a 6-15 second delay on dns look ups. Which is not seen when not using havp proxy.

I have updated the Unbound package to address the latest CVE and bumped the version to 1.4.14.
Also fixed the Unbound 'not starting' issue. -
awesome!
Thanks. I am updating right now
