Squid/havp preventing certain downloads, help please.
-
Today while setting up another PFSense box in a business, I noticed while trying to use the adobe download manager to download reader and flash, it would give me a corrupted download and fail (about 125kb~ in size). I later noticed that when I tried to download itunes, it would give me another 125kb corrupted file.
I also noticed that if I tried the IE part of adobe flash download that opens a 2nd browser window to initiate the download would prompt havp to forward that tiny window to my "You almost got a virus" page.
Any idea why this is doing this and how can I fix it? Thanks.

I've tried doing this: http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=7538.15 and this: http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,31648.15.html
The squid.conf does seem to rebuild itself after every reboot of the pfsense. I cant figure out where in squid.inc to edit so I haven't touched that yet in fear of breaking it :)
Changing the disk cache type to null obviously works since it stops caching on that type, but thats not what I want since I would like to cache other things, just not flash movies.
edit I just edited squid.inc with the 2 commands given in the 2nd link, rebooted, and the commands are now in squid.conf, but that still did not do any good :(
ANYBODY have any ideas? :(

The problem isn't squid, it's HAVP.
from: http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=34199.0
Use the pfsense edit file tool under diagnostics and open this file: /usr/local/pkg/havp.inc
search for the following line:
"$conf[] = "DetectBrokenExecutables yes";
Change to:
"$conf[] = "DetectBrokenExecutables no";
save and restart HAVP.
