      Hi,

On my LAN I use a linux machine with : bind9 for DNS service and DHCPD for DHCP service.
When a PC is connected to LAN, DHCPD give an IP address to the PC and register the PC hostanme into bind9. PC's can't register directly into the bind9 (denied).

A pfSense is connected on my LAN :

             Linux (dhcp/dns)
               |
      ------------------ LAN 10.0.0.0/8
        |
        |   10.0.0.254
      pfSense
        |    192.168.0.254 (DHCP)
        |
        --------------- Subnet 192.168.0.0/24
            |       |
           PC1   PC2

The hostname of PC1,PC2, PCx, etc. is register in pfSense, but not known on my LAN.

How can I register the hostnames in an external DNS server (bind9 on my LAN) ? DNS Forwarder is enable.
      thank you

Did you ever get this working? I want to do the same thing, but as far as I can tell it's not possible.
