Squidguard installation problem
-
Hi,
got to "DIAGNOSTICS -> Backup/Restore" and Clear package lock.
SSH to your machine and go to
/usr/local/pkg/There you remove all files which belong to squidGuard. (.inc and .xml)
Then try a reinstallation.
I tested yesterday squid and squidguard on a pfsense 2.0.1 amd64 VM and it worked without problems.
i tried what u said but process stops on Loading package instructions once again
:(
-
where squid goes after installation ?
in services menu i can't see that .ps: other packages install successfully but i cannot install squid guard yet .. :(
-
Squid: Services -> Proxy Server
SquidGuard: Services -> Proxy Filter -
do i need install any package before install squidguard ?
-
Package description says it depends on squid package

I think i have to go back to slackware.
Try a 2.0.1 fresh install first. Check internet access and rules before package instalation.
these packages really works.

Something curious at your "squidguard" log. Did you accidentally install Lightsquid instead squidguard ?
@all:
Could it be possible that his ISP is using some kind of proxy or before pfsense there is a proxy or another filter which blocks some downloads of squidguard and that's why not all neccessary files could be downloaded and the installation aborts ?If I remember correct in the past there was some users who had the problems I described.

2.0.1-RELEASE (i386) on a box with intel Pentium 4 CPU 1.80GHz & 256 ram mem .
can u please give me a download link since it may happen cause of bad iso i've downloaded ? -
Try this one http://pfsense.ufms.br/downloads/pfSense-2.0.1-RELEASE-i386.iso.gz
-
thanks marcelloc .
ok
i'd download pfsense iso once again and write it on cd and then install but nothing changes .
i'd try to install packages when i was connected to 3 difrence isp each time .
in my network there's nothing like proxy server or something else .
strange thing is that other packages installed completlly but squidguard doesn't.p.s : sorry for my bad english
-
you did a clean install with no other packages before squid and squidguard?
-
yeah . i did .
i did everything u say .
