      using 2.0 RC

      Not having any issues with this, but more of an annoyance

      I have set my switch and wireless router (configured as an AP) with a static IP mapping.
      My switch for example, set in the switch itself to either static or dynamic shows its self as offline in Pf Sense.

      Just wondering if this was normal?

        i think offline simply means that the firewall hasn't seen an ARP from that device in awhile.  since it's not acting as a router in may never do an ARP to the firewall.

          rpsmith is correct. The online/offline status is tied to its presence in the ARP table.

            You "could" set up a cron job to ping the device every 20 minutes
            The default ARP-timout is 20 minutes.

            We do what we must, because we can.

              Thanks for all the answers.

              Also think I will be ok to live without setting up the cron job.
              My switch is clearly online if i am connected to my network.
