How exactly is CARP supposed to work in IPv6?  I was able to configure it much the same way as IPv4 and it seems to be working, but the obvious question is how to advertise the shared address if you don't want to manually configure clients.  Would the shared address need to be link-local in keeping with IPv6?  The most recent thing I could find was at http://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/1829.  Have I missed something?

      Thanks.

I didn't pose this question rhetorically. ;D  Does anyone know how this is supposed to work?

It currently only works statically AFAIK, assuming something hasn't changed recently that I overlooked. Hopefully Seth can chime in here.

Looks like it's still just static, but there is some plan to make the router advertisements go from the carp or similar.

There is current work in progress to patch our router advertisements to send the link local address of one of the CARP addresses.

The recommended approach now is to only activate the RA on the master, that means that failover will breakk your IPv6. However enabling both is a no go as that would send traffic to the backup and it would act like a blackhole.
