Fanless mini itx dual intel nic recommendations.

For use as my main router/firewall. Internet connections speed is 25mbps. This is for a home network that needs advanced QoS and probably upnp for xboxs and the like.
Lots of media streaming over the network, computers/nas connected with wired gigabit. What do you guys recommend?Been looking at atom and i3 builds. Want to house in a 1u server chassis to built in dual gigabit intel lan preferred.

For 25Mbps you don't need anything beyond an Atom.
See if you can get the New Intel D2500CC, that will be perfect for you, an ITX boards with 82574L having dual ports. -
looks like a good board for what i need.
Can someone recommend me a good TINY m-itx case with fanless PSU?
and perhaps what i should install pfsense onto, hdd that creates heat and noise is out of the question, and ssd too expensive, would a usb stick suffice? -

I'm using M350 mini itx case as fanless system.
It does have a hidden USB port behind the front cover.http://www.cartft.com/de/catalog/il/1058

d2500cc is fanless. if you put it into a fanless case, it can be a bit too hot. i say so because i got one. and i've used a double sided tape to put a 80mm x 10mm fan into the case. and now it's noisy…

So far, my d2500cc incl. 2,5 HDD is running 24/7 in the fanless case from my previous post without problem sinse about 2 weeks.
Ok, pfsense does not create 100% load. Most case the system is running in idel mode.Have a closer look to this case. It is open in all directions. Air can go in and out in all directuons.
But you are right. A closed cabinet wouldn't be a perfect place. If you tell me how to read the board temperature under pfsens/freeBSD I will let you know.
Edit:
If the ouput of mbmon is correct on this board everthings looks fine
Temp.= 46.0, 40.5, 46.0 -
40 ~50C is about right. i first had win7 installed running multiple 7z compression for 30min and it was running into 50's C with the whole case being pretty warm.
afterwards i installed pfsense, left it running for half a day and when touch it (i know this is very inaccurate way of measuring LOL) it feels about the same warmth. and it's winter!
anyway, i got a bit worried and checked d2500cc's manual, it specifically says being a fanless board, it requires some kind of case fan or the help of fan from power supplier, and that it should not be totally fanless. so, i'd say it's still better to stick a case fan into the case albeit a very slow one.

Ok, in summer I have to reevaluate.
It's not wrong to use a fan. My intention was to reduce power as much as possible. Therefore I decided to go fanless.
I tried powerd option under pfsense but without impact to the power consumption. So I diabled it again. But you can check if your temperatures feels better with this option enabled.
Somewhere here in the board you can find how to include mbmon into pfsense to see the temperatures on the status page of the administration webpage.
