Is minipci card DNMA92 supported in pfSense 2.1?
-
Hi everyone,
Bought this Alix2d13 and DNMA92 + 2 5Ghz antenas. The card show up fine and I am able to create interface but when I try to use it as either of Infrastructure or Hostap it just fails saying "no carrier". Is this card supported? Has anyone else got it working?

Seems like it requires kernel (e.g. 2.6.37) BSD. Is it possible to upgrade to that?
If doesn't work, which one of these options work?

No. 2.6.37 is not a FreeBSD kernel version. Maybe 2.6.37 is a Linux kernel version but that is not useful in this context because pfSense doesn't use the Linux kernel.
I suggest you search the pfSense forums for reports on the alternate cards you listed - someone may have already reported one of them working. Alternatively, ask pcengines for a recommendation. The page you linked to is fairly clear: "limited support in FreeBSD 9.0" so I suspect they have a fair working knowledge of which of their cards works with different FreeBSD versions.

And they never told me this won't be good for pfSense. My fault though. Arggggggggggg
So, why does pfSense recognize it? Also, I read that new FreeBSD 9.0 supports this chip. So, it won't be possible to upgrade pfSense to new kernel? If not, is it in the works for next 6 months?
Thanks
