MBUF Usage
-
I have a problem with a 2.0.1-RELEASE (amd64)built on Mon Dec 12 18:16:13 EST 2011
Quad Core
16GB of RAM2 Interfaces WAN bridged to LAN (transparent Firewall)
It all runs fine then it starts to drop connections and then the web GUI starts to slow down to the point you get Unavailable message. CPU sits around 10-15% so it isn't a CPU issue but I did notice that the MBUF was maxed out.
I am running snort and pfblocker.
netstat -m
25440/2724/28164 mbufs in use (current/cache/total)
24961/639/25600/25600 mbuf clusters in use (current/cache/total/max)
24850/639 mbuf+clusters out of packet secondary zone in use (current/cache)
0/263/263/12800 4k (page size) jumbo clusters in use (current/cache/total/max)
0/0/0/6400 9k jumbo clusters in use (current/cache/total/max)
0/0/0/3200 16k jumbo clusters in use (current/cache/total/max)
62645K/3692K/66337K bytes allocated to network (current/cache/total)
0/545855123/70936728 requests for mbufs denied (mbufs/clusters/mbuf+clusters)
0/0/0 requests for jumbo clusters denied (4k/9k/16k)
0/0/0 sfbufs in use (current/peak/max)
0 requests for sfbufs denied
0 requests for sfbufs delayed
0 requests for I/O initiated by sendfile
0 calls to protocol drain routinesI am wondering where I go from here.

Increase nmbclusters, it's covered here:
