DynDNS [Resolved - Windows Firewall - Radmin had no permission]
-
Hi.
Anyone having a issue using DynDNS service on 2.0 RC1?
After the most recent upgrade, the NAT / Firewall rules are still there for Radmin and the DynDNS account. Just can't make that connection anymore.
Anyone having similar issues?
jits.

What issue are you having? I use DNS-O-matic to update my DynDNS entry and that apparently works fine.

How do you update your DynDNS registration? If you do it from your LAN or pfSense through a web page why do you need firewall rules?

Sorry. The firewall rules are there for Radmin. Not DynDNS.
DNS-O-Matic? Man, these guys think of everything!
I'll triple check again after the current upgrade completes. Thank You.

I'm using OpenDNS for web filtering and I have dynamic public IP address so I use DNS-O-matic to update my DynDNS, OpenDNS and No-IP registrations in one "hit". Yes, its a very useful service.

Finally got some time to sit down and scratch on this problem.
I am able to use openvpn to log into other location and ping target IP via Dyndns. ICMP returns are seen and are also seen in pftop.
Then, I used radmin at other location, again, via openvpn, and attempt to log into system here, where I am. No connection error seen at remote location. However, pftop see's the attempt.I then uninstall Commodo firewall, restart, and re-try. Again, no connection error, pftop see's attempt.
I then, using windows 7, navigate to windows firewall and check the permissions. I almost mistake radmin viewer as the correct program, but this is incorrect as I am looking for rserver, which is located, in my system, inside the syswow64 folder.
Rserver is not listed as allowed. Rserver added as allowed and… bread, butter and cheese..it works!
So, I apologize for being too quick to hit RC2. She has had some rough days in the past, but this young lady is maturing nicely. :)
