      Hi all,

I setup pfsense on my P3 800 mhz computer with 512 mb ram using a Live CD. I plugged in a USB memory stick and it doesn't seem to store anything on there. How do I get it to do that?

My biggest issue. There are 5 of us living in this house and everyone is a bandwidth hog. I would like to whitelist my two MAC addresses and give them unlimited bandwidth, but any other non-whitelisted device will get capped at 2mbps download and 256 kbps upload. How do I go about doing this?

I put two NIC cards in the pfsense box, plugged the cable modem into one (the WAN) and plugged a wireless router into the other (the LAN) and am running it in AP mode. Works great so far. I just need to know how cap people.

      Thanks!

Create one limiter for download, one for upload and then apply it to a lan rule.

To bypass your ips, just apply your ips to a rule before limiter rules.

I'm not really sure what that is. Is there any specific documentation I can follow when doing this? Never did it before. Thanks!

Thanks, worked great! Is there any other tutorial on how to put my own statically assigned IP's in a subnet, and then put everyone else (static and or dynamic IPs) in a different subnet, then cap that subnet?

If CAP is captive portal you do not need subnets, just include your Mac on bypass list.
