Marcelo Gondim (gondim on bsdinfo.com.br) made available the slides of the lecture he made in DAY VOL III (pt-BR). The material, covering the High Availability FreeBSD, behind a lot of information about some of the latest features included and/or improvement in the recently released FreeBSD 9.0 - case the ZFS filesystem, the use of Highly Available Storage (HAST) and CARP protocol.

It is always important to remember that pfSense is 100% based on FreeBSD (the current pfSense 2.0.1 is based on FreeBSD 8.1 - The version 2.1 that is coming to the status of "stable" is based on FreeBSD 8.3 - However, the chances pfSense 2.2 is the future based entirely on FreeBSD 9.0 are very high). Rightfully so, most of the ports (packages), resources, command (shell) and possibilities of the operating system from Berkeley are also valid for pfSense!

Reading more than recommended for all levels of sysadmins: http://www.pfsense-br.org/blog/2012/03/alta-disponibilidade-no-freebsd-9-0/

Thanks for the info though, makes me wish I spoke Portuguese.

Certainly I am biased, but the beaches are the most beautiful in the world! ;)

Speaking Portuguese is not so difficult … We have some letters and accents more! :)
