Hi I have just renamed one of my WAN interfaces (WAN4) which has caused it to not reconnect.

I have four gateways each uses a PPPoe connection and basically after making the change the firewall rebooted and brought up the kernel crash panic.

I am using the below version:-

    i386
    8.1-RELEASE-p6
    FreeBSD 8.1-RELEASE-p6 #0: Mon Dec 12 17:53:00 EST 2011     root@FreeBSD_8.0_pfSense_2.0-snaps.pfsense.org:/usr/obj./usr/pfSensesrc/src/sys/pfSense_SMP.8

I have attached the logs, so long as I don't touch the PPPoe interface the firewall stays up with WAN4 down.

I have similar crashes with PPPoE client (WAN) from time to time (sometimes it is up and running for 80+ days), for me it looks like there is common problems with  PPP in pfsense. I did not reported them as it always reported in redmine. Those kernel panics are related to PPPoE reconnection in most cases.
