How to delete logs?
-
I have problem with the pfsense firewall, it was working correctly but now i have an error of out of space on disk. I dont know why the disk is full, but reading on this forum i see that some people that have the same problem just delete the logs.
How i cant delete the logs ? Is there any way to disable logs for avoid future problems?

The logs cannot fill up your disk, they're circular files that are stored in RAM. Some packages can fill your disk. To figure out where your disk space is being used, you can run du at the command line, such as:
cd /
du -hd1Then drill down into the directory where the majority of the disk space resides and run that again.

the problem is that i get a message that said: " out of inodes " and the pfsense is not working.

That doesn't mean that the problem relates to logs. It may be related to a package you installed, but in neither thread you've got going have you given any details.

As mentioned in the other thread you started, this could also be due to a failing hard drive.

THANKS, I guess that the hd is failling. but i am want to be sure.
There is any way to backup all the pfsense configurations and settings ? Then i can install the pfsense in a new drive and then restore all settings and configurations .. is this possible ?

Diagnostics > Backup/Restore.
All you need is the config.xml. You can restore that to a new system and all is well.

This is using the web interface? because i cant access it :(

There are ways to get the config off a hard drive in that case, but none of them are simple.
If you still have network access, from the console you could scp /conf/config.xml to some other box and get it there. If you boot from CD, you could attempt to mount the hard drive and copy the config to a remote system that way.
