Help with package freeradius simultaneous connections
-
hi! I am using pfSense with freeradius, I use a 300c Fortinet give users the high in freeradius, authentication to achieve more than 15 access points that are in different vlans over 7. working properly.
I now see the option that says:Number of simultaneous connections:
The maximum of simultaneous connections With This username. If you leave this field empty than there is no limit. If you are using FreeRADIUS with CaptivePortal Should you leave this empty. What I need is to be one account per user, meaning that users can not share accounts.
This means that the account may be used 1 to vez.if a user uses Account 1 user2 can no longer use.sorry for the spanglish
thanks

I tried to leave with the option to "0" and "1", it's not working: ( -
Hi,
simultaneous-use on freeradius is ONLY working if you have accounting enabled on your NAS (AP). If your AP does not support accounting then Simultaneous-use will not work. That is the way how freeradius is working.
If you are using pfsense CaptivePortal then just chose "Disable concurrent logins" on CaptivePortal GUI and just leave the simultaneous-use field empty on freeradius. The captiveportal setting allows a user to connect. If another user connects with the same credentials then the first host will be disconnected and the second host will be connected.
So you can see - there are two different way to realize that :-)

ok thanks, the NAS can now see the freeradius because users can login with your username and password.
I can say that my Nas if it supports the option "account"?.
Because the NAS question to pfSense, this validates the user and gives you access.
I will keep looking but if you have an idea I will appreciate greatly. -
Your post is difficult to understand for me. ;)
If your NAS supports "account"ing then Simultaneous-Use will work.
If you use pfsense Captive portal then try with "Disable concurrent logins".
