Hello Mr. Stephen, it's kinda like a dos prompt flashing but it's on a /
any idea what i could do next? Thanks..

That sound like it's stuck at the spinner.
The 'spinner' is supposed to look like a rotating line, it does this using the |-/ characters. If it gets stuck you just see one character, in this case '/'.You should try one of the suggestions from the docs. Try setting your BIOS HD detection differently.

I've got another suggestion as well. This happened to me a few months back. Of course it couldn't have happened on a Friday at 5:00pm or anything, it had to happen on a Saturday afternoon during an audit of the warehouse, and they HAD HAD HAD to have internet. Grr.
In any case, I replaced the firewall with another one quickly and decided to tinker with the problem child one later. I got around to it a month or so later and tried a variety of things. After about the 6th reload and restore of the configuration I found the problem. On the System -> Advanced screen at the bottom is an option for piping the pfSense console output to a serial port. I had this enabled. But in the BIOS of the machine, I had the only serial port the machine had DISABLED. So it got to the bootloader, the timer expired and it started in on the normal boot process, it tried to start piping output to the serial port, and nothing was there to port the output to. And for some reason, this caused the hose-up. To verify the theory I restored the configuration from the night before the crash and rebooted with the serial port disabled. It hung. Then I rebooted, got into the BIOS, and enabled the serial port. It booted up no problem. Got back into the BIOS, disabled the serial port = hang. Re-enable = normal boot.
So, is your serial port option enabled in the configuration? If so, is the serial port available in the BIOS?

It's unlikely to be that since this is immediately after installation and the serial console is not enabled by default.
Interesting solution though, I'll have to remember that for future trouble shooting. :)Steve
