On nanobsd/embedded like your Alix 2D13 there is no swap partition or file. Available swap space is 0. So everything is expected to fit into real memory. "out of swap space" really just means "out of real memory" in this configuration.

We had these type of troubles on a few 2.0.1 systems. Because of power issues, some of our sites have everything powered down shortly after office hours and powered up again each morning. Sometimes the pfSense 2.0.1 Alix 2D13 systems would get various "Killed" messages on the console during the startup, seemingly due to running out of memory. If it is one of the main startup scripts that dies, then often there was no DHCP or DNS or WebConfigurator. To get to the system and correct this, we could manually set an IP address on a client system, then SSH to pfSense (or use a real console cable), restart WebConfigurator, then login to the webGUI and restart DHCP and DNS services and anything else that didn't start. That's all a pain for users in a remote office when their router/internet doesn't come up in the morning!

We have been trying 2.1-DEVELOPMENT since after some testing of powering off and on it seemed to reliably start up. Now here is an example of running out of memory of 2.1

Kalu, what packages are installed? What is the dashboard usually showing for Memory usage?

As the Greek philosopher Isosceles used to say, "There are 3 sides to every triangle."

          Hi Phil , Thanks
well… yes i can ssh the device i did choose 11 to Restart the Webconfigurator, yet can't get into the webgui i just rebooted the device from ssh and it's working fine.
          on the dashboard there was

          1. system information
          2. Interfaces
            3)Traffic Graphs
            4)Open VPN Status

just removed the Traffic Graph suspecting it might be the culprit
          installed applications are

          1)OPEN VPN client Export Utility
          2)pfblocker

and i have enabled the limiter
          in firewall->Traffic Shaper
          Thankyou

The ACPI error is normal on ALIX.

            ad0: FAILURE - SETFEATURES 0x85 status=51 <ready,dsc,error>error=4<aborted></aborted></ready,dsc,error>

            That's normal also - see http://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/DMA_and_LBA_Errors#SETFEATURES_Error
