      Hi,
Would anyone be so kind as to advise on the following:

Would PFSense be a suitable option to use as a firewall for a cloud/VPS hosting provider (on a strict budget)?

There would be around 500 customers VMs (a mix of windows/linux) running all the standard VPS stuff (cpanel/apache/ssh/wordpress/sharepoint/joomla/ftp etc). The hardware would be a Dual processor Intel Xeon 3.6ghz, 16GB RAM, Mirrored 70GB SCSI disks, Dual gigabit NICS (and an added 4 port Gigabit NIC for additional LANS).

      Many thanks,
      Tom.

That type of deployment is amongst the most common we do. We've done in excess of 100 datacenter setups similar to that for customers, and there are probably thousands of others out there that we've had no involvement in.
