Did you gitsync the 2.1 code onto 2.0.1 (FreeBSD 8.1) base?

If the package doesn't showup in the packagelist. (like in my 2.0.1 installation)
Try this url the web interface (package page) manually.
"http://pfsense/pkg_mgr_install.php?id=Unbound" where pfsense is your servername / IP-address.

            Hi Tikimotel,

The reason I asked this is because Unbound is being integrated into 2.1, so I was curious if there was any idea when it would be made "visible" in the pfsense GUI.

They removed it from the package list for a reason – it doesn't work!

It was listed as a package before, but it does not work.  It is suppose to be integrated into the 2.1 line -- but when is the question??

                Hi johnpoz,

That is pretty much the question!

I'm well aware that unbound didn't work…..at least in my case it worked great for about an hour, then totally broke all dns resolution on my network. Supposedly that has been fixed\is being fixed.

Anyway, being the glutton for punishment I am I disabled all automatic dns updates and went looking to install unbound & give it another whirl. I couldn't find it listed in packages so I went looking some more & fouind this:

Add a max version for Unbound so it cant be installed on 2.1 since its been integrated there

So I am looking for an update on when we could expect it. There are unbound-related files included in the latest 2.1 snaps.

I'm with you!!  I am also looking for update when we can expect it as well.

                  I miss my unbound ;)

I understand that "unbound" isn't visible to 2.1 users/testers because of the integration.
Why is "unbound" also not visible for 2.01 users? (2.01 != 2.1)

I run 2.01 atm, with unbound installed. (on a Atom mini-itx)

                    2.1 won't work on my VE-900 mini-itx board (nano x2)
(VX900 sata controller not recognizing any of my HDD's and SSD's in freebsd version used in 2.1)

                      Hi guys,

Any word on how the Unbound integration is coming?

I see that there are some Unbound files in the latest snaps, and I can even get to the Unbound configuration page if I add "/services_unbound.php" to my GUI URL. It looks like it's all there…does it just need to be added to the "Services" menu? I'd imagine that if it was properly ready it would have gotten the final steps to make it visible to the users.

Thank you for any updates you could provide!

                      -Will

                          Hi mikesamo,

Sure, the thing is it looks like there's a complete package of Unbound that's included in the 2.1 dev builds that was added back in the first week of April, it's just not available\visible as a service you can enable. I don't know how far along it is or if they found some problem but it looks like it's there and just needs the final bits committed to make it available for us to test.
