Pfsense on ibm server change!?

Hi,
Currently i have an pc based machine with pfsense 2.0.1 version, it's working great…celeron D 1,7ghz , 256 mb ddr1, wan=100mbps band(7-10mpbs real download speed and 3-4 upload), normal hdd on ide, wich is fine but i notticed that on full speed download/using of network proccesor is a little bit exceeded.
But still all to be properly i thought to change it with IBM e220 server wich i allredy have, p3 dual processor 1st=1,4 ghz second=1ghz with 512 ram sd :D 2 hdd on raid.
With all your experience will this server, deal with the two boards 1000Mbps and a third one as backup if one is down somehow ?
If no, can i made some improvments or is too old ...i mention that with 2003 server is working great, but with power consumation...disappointing if bouth are running pfsense on pc and 2003 on server :D
Of course server has a big difference on cooling, hdd and non-stop functionality beside normal pc mentioned above !Thanks !

Hmmm.
The Celeron D was never produced at 1.7GHz. Is it underclocked?
Even so I'm very surprised it is struggling with a 10Mbps connection. Are you running many packages?If this is going to be on 24/7 then you will save money in a relatively short time by simply buying something low powered.

YES it's working from december non stop :D
Running: squid on wan, nut and sarg.
And yes is supporting 10 mbps down speed, but only one pc, one ap, and eserver wich was working as web server :D
It's cpu type CPU Type Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 1.70GHz like this is recognized in web gui :D

Ah well it's probably a P4 type Celeron then.
The P3 server may be slightly faster but not significantly.
If I were you I would replace the CPU in your existing box. You can probably fit any Pentium 4 and a 2.8GHz P4 can be had from Ebay for almost nothing! :)Steve
