    Hello,

    My setup is:

    Internet    ip 82.xxx.xxx.xxx

    Router      ip 192.168.11.1

    Pfsense wan ip 192.168.11.17

    Pfsense lan ip 192.168.1.1 (dhcp on 192.168.1.10 - 192.168.1.255)

On the lan port i have a Nanostation 2 with static ip 192.168.1.2 setup as AP-WDS bridge

This is al working fine for my Captive Portal (HOTSPOT).

After i connect to my wireless network and want to browse the internet i come to the captive portal login page.

Now i want to increase my hotspot, so i've installed another nanostation 2.

    setup:

    AP-WDS bridge static ip 192.168.1.3

    Set the same SSID
    Set the same Channel
    Set the same encryption (none)
Set the Wlan mac of the first Nano as peer into the second Nano
Set the Wlan mac of the second Nano as peer into the first Nanon

    The problem is:

When connecting to the second Nano (Wireless) i don't get an IP address.

When connecting to the second Nano with Lan cable i get an IP Address?????????????????

I thought it has to do with the mac address of the second nano.

When i'm connected with the lan cable, the captive portal status shows me the mac address of the nic in my PC
and not the mac address of the second Nano (thats good).

How can i fix this, to get an IP address to my wireless clients with the second Nano

    THX for all the help

I'm guessing pfSense is supposed to be the DHCP server for the APs and their clients. If so, have you checked the DHCP logs to see if pfSense is receiving a request om the WFi clients on the second AP?

Not necessarily. I am not familiar with the details of what the Nanostations do and I'm not familiar with the details of how you have them configured so I can't say what you need to do to your APs.

In general terms, you should have no more than one DHCP server on a LAN (including bridged segments) and appropriate components (e.g. bridges that filter) need to be configured to allow DHCP traffic between DHCP server and DHCP client.

What system acts as DHCP server to wireless client of first AP? (Some Windows systems report the IP address of DHCP server in the ouput of the shell command```
          ipconfig /all

Pfsense is acting as a dhcp server.

The syslog of the dhcp is not receiving anything from my second AP.

From what you have previously reported it appears you have communication between second AP and pfSense. Does the second AP need to configured to forward (or relay) wireless DHCP requests?

Does the second AP report that the wireless client has associated with the AP? (Maybe you have mismatched security settings.)

                  no mismatch.

Does that mean the second AP reports an association with the wireless client? (There must be an association before the AP can receive the DHCP request.)

                      Feel so stupid?????????

                      Client isolation was on.
I really thought i've shut it of.

                      Thx for the help.

Finally my hotspot is running as it should be.
