Upgrade 1.2.3 ro 2.0 RC or not ?
-
Hello All,
I have a question, I have a HA configuration of 2 pfsense firewall running release 1.2.3. Including some load balancers, OpenVPN access, etc. On the hardware side my primary firewall is running on a Atom based configuration with full installation on a SSD disk and my standby is an ALIX on a compact flash. They are responsible for my production Internet access.
So it is safe to upgrade to 2.0 RC series ? Or better wait ?
PS> I have 1 Alix running 2.0RC-IPV6 running on my test environment and it looks stable.

I'd wait.
In my experience failover mostly works under 2.0, except for load balancing. After failover the backup box will show load balancing as configured, will show that the load balancing pool is up (or whatever the status is), but won't route traffic to it properly.
I can't diagnose better that that until I get a failed firewall repaired, but that was my experience.

I haven't heard of anyone having issues with CARP/HA on current builds. Or the gateway groups/load balancing for that matter.
