When I ping through the VPN I get a return but when I ping the other way I get nothing and it says this in the logs.

I am not quite sure what this means and how to fix it.  Any suggestions.  One idear that I had was the firewall rules on the other side blocking the ping from being started on that side.

    Thanks

We need more details on your setup. This is not enough to even start a wild guess.
