      Hi,

      Is it possible to use Pfsense to tag vlan traffic (one interface with 5 VLANs)?

      We want to use MAC authentification to assign the VLANs, is it possible ? If yes, how ?

      Thanks

        Not sure about the MAC authentication, but yes, pfSense can use VLANs. There are several documents on how to accomplish this. Just search the forums and http://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Main_Page.

          That MAC authentication sounds more like radiusserver domain, try with freeradius2 package

            thanks for the reply.

            As you said, Radius seems the way to go. But will the Radius be able to tag the vlan for a given MAC ?

            I want to dispatch users in different VLANs depending on their MAC Addressses.

                @guigui42:

                I don't understand what you mean - do you want to be able to plug in computers at various points in your network and have them assigned a VLAN dependent on the MAC address and independent of the connection point? If so, I suspect this would need special software in the computer as well as special software on some server.
