Country IP Blocks is considering offering free ACLs to pfblocker users
-
We are also offering three tiers of plans: Home/personal users $99; Non-profits $149.00; Commercial users $179.00. Starting in August we will also offer monthly subscription services.
Regardless of the above, we would like to do something special for pfblocker users.
-
That is awesome CIPB. Looking forward to what is offered. :-)
-
Astounding. Thank you for reaching out.
-
Thanks CIPB! :)

We are looking to offer pfblocker users 6 months of free data (it cannot be redistributed).
As I can't include these updated lists in pfblocker package, I suggest pfblocker users to conatct CIPB.

Why not Marcello?

Talk to us and let us know what it is needed.

Why not Marcello?
If CIPB were included in the pfBlocker package, it would be redistributed with every pfBlocker install/update.
That would violate the terms of the CIPB offer, as outlined above. That's my take on it.
-
But couldnt one user do that and distribute to others?

I have no idea how many sysadmins uses pfblocker around the world.
So it's hard to say how an agreement can be done. -
It's always worth discussing in order to see what can be worked out.

Possibilities:
Allowing pfBlocker devs occasional access to freshen up the lists in pfBlocker.Allowing individual pfBlocker users to register w/ CIPB and receive some sort of list access in return.
Allowing pfBlocker to regain it's former access to CIPB lists, in trade for publishing a CIPB logo/badge on the pfBlocker tab/page in pfSense.
(Probably needs approval by marcello/tommyboy and/or others)That's what I have off the top of my head.
