Pfsense no internet after restarting via webgui?
-
is this normal behavior of pfsense, after restarting pfsense box, all device have no internet?? and cant access webgui from 192.168.1.1 ip? why is it doing that? and is it also normal to asign NIC everytime i restart?
please reply ive asked 6 question non of then has replied..i spend more than $430 to build this box and hoping this wont be a waste of time and money..
thank you!

No that's not normal. You will only be asked to reassign the NICs if one has been removed or if you don't have an existing config file.
I replied to your earlier question but am waiting for your response. I take it you have got past that point though.
Please give more details of your setup. Which install type are you using? What hardware are you using? How did you get around the common subnet problem?
You haven't wasted your money. ;)

There are lots of possible answers but you haven't provided enough information to eliminate some of the possibilities.
Have you read any of the pfSense documentation on http://doc.pfsense.org, particularly the Installation Guide at http://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/InstallationGuide
is this normal behavior of pfsense, after restarting pfsense box, all device have no internet??
No, IF pfSense has been correctly configured.
and cant access webgui from 192.168.1.1 ip? why is it doing that?
Maybe the system you are using to attempt to access the web GUI isn't correctly configured. Your statement suggests the computer on which you are trying to access the pfSense webGUI has IP address 192.168.1.1. The default pfSense LAN interface IP address is 192.168.1.1. Two computers with the same IP address is an invalid configuration.
What does the browser report when you attempt to access the web GUI?
What is the IP address, network mask and default gateway of the system on which you are attempting access?and is it also normal i have to asign NIC everytime i restart?
No. Do you have USB NICs? Is pfSense rebooting off the installation media?
What is the exact text of the message requesting NIC assignment? -
thank you for your reply.!! ;D yes your right i remove my usb wifi card..but why after re-asigning my 2 NIC i still have no internet?..i got all this work last night..is just that this morning i tried to play mw3 on my ps3 i got so laggy and mw3 telling me i have NAT type3??..and also everytime i restart my pfsense box do i have to restart my modem also?
thanks all!

What is the exact text of the message requesting NIC assignment?yes i have 1 usb ethernet and my second is board ethernet..pfsense asking me same thing when i first install my pfsense..like create vlan, and assign wan and lan NICs.
thanks

USB NICs can be temperamental, you should avoid them if you can. Even when they work reliably the throughput is usually poor compared to PCI NICs.
Do you have answers to my previous questions? ;)Steve

Hmm, well that's not right. I have never had that problem even with phones or tablets that repeatedly go in and out of standby.

@zotek, I also have this issue. I could confirm this is a pfsense issue. I tried my other computers, all of them do not have internet. When I use the console, I could see WAN has IP, but LAN just cannot get internet. This problem is really random, sometimes reboot is fine, sometimes not. Mostly because the reboot feature in the GUI, but happens on the console reboot few times too.
I have the 2.0.1 release version. -
That's not the same problem as Zotek.
Zotek has client machines that loose internet access when they are rebooted, not pfSense. What hardware are you running?
