So I have been researching and priced up a Supermicro X7SPA-HF -D525 with 4 gb RAM picoPSU 150 and a M350 enclosure and was ready to click order now and then stumbled across this http://www.mini-itx.com/store/?c=34#JNF99-525 Jetway JNF99-525 which could have the 3*intel gb LAN daughter board added http://www.mini-itx.com/store/?c=34#modules

How do these 2 boards compare? I dont need 5 LAN ports but both boards appear to have dual gb Intel nics and the same processor. I guess I want a board which could be used in the future as a NAS but intentionally a mITX pfsense home router with minimal traffic and VPNs (both are probably overkill).

      Any thoughts?

I use the Jetway to work (and I highly recommend the Intel modules … for better performance).
Supermicro know him as a supplier of good servers, but it is certainly more expensive.

For me, for home use - the small office jatway have an excellent price / performance.

PS: for firewall use .. 2Gb of RAM is OK !

Depending on where you can get your stocks from, the Jetway is about the same price as the Supermicro and in some instances, more expensive (US$10 - 20).
I would go for the Supermicro if there is no need for the LAN daugtherboard.  It has the advantage of having a PCIe x4 (in x16 slot) so you can plug in a PCIe multi-GBe card if needed or a SATA host controller (can be converted into a NAS).
