Email notifications

Is there a way that an admin can setup so that pfsense sends an email to a certain address whenever a certain user makes any changes? For example, when user "a" adds a name to Captive Portal MAC passthrough list, that i get an email?
Also, setting up the email notifications.. cant seem to do it with my email which is hosted by 1and1.com has anyone else had any luck ?

Ive now managed to get the notifications working via email, well at least i got the test email.
How do i setup other notifications? i can't see where it is that i do that.

Maybe i have posted this in the wrong area? cause i am sure alot of people do know how to do this.. Specifically i need to know how to:
Have pfsense email me a notification when a certain user does a particular thing, like: I get an email when user "B" adds an entry or edits an entry on the Captive Portal Mac Passthrough page.. how can i set this up please?

This isn't yet possible using the built-in notification system.
Could maybe hack something together but it's not possible "out of the box".

Ah ok, thanks for the reply.. what exactly can the built in notification system do then? the only thing i see is that it can email me the RRD graphs..
Anyone on here know how to hack something together to do what i am wanting to do?
Thanks in advance

The base system smtp notifications currently things like:
- Anything that results in a system notification in the GUI – ssh keys, filter rules failing to load, xmlrpc sync errors, etc.
- Notify when a gateway goes down
- Notify when a dyndns IP changes (on 2.1)
- Notify about firmware update progress
It can be extended in the future but at the moment that's about it.

Ok, thanks for your reply!

Is there any way to have pfSense send me an SMS text, or email when a user logs in to OpenVPN? This would be very helpful for me.
