thanks for the reply. However, i did reinstalled it already to a fresh windows 7 and only pfsense is in there. Still, I don't see the freeradius 2. i see only a freeradius.

Which pfSense install type are you using?
The freeradius2 package is listed in the package XML file without restrictions:
          http://www.pfsense.org/packages/pkg_config.8.xml

What I meant was which install type.
The standard 'full install', installing to a hard drive from a CD or USB stick generally gives access to the full range of available packages.
The NanoBSD images have a restricted package list.
The embedded kernel install has further restrictions (no packages at all last time I used it).

              Steve

it was installed in a vmware workstation 8. the i386 iso file is located on the harddisk which was mounted using daemon tools. hope this answer your question

Ok, but it was actually installed rather than run as a live CD? The live CD would obviously have a problem with packages!
Assuming you did install, did you select 'multicore kernel' rather than embedded?

Yes, it was actually installed using the ISO file via DAEMON Tools. If I remember it right, the multicore kernel was selected during the install process. However, I can re-install it again to figure it out. I am just on the test system. Would you mind giving me the link that you have used which has the freeradius 2 available? By the way, here's the link that I have used:

                    http://files.chi.pfsense.org/mirror/downloads/

                    pfSense-2.0.1-RELEASE-i386.iso.gz

This should have a freeradius 2, right?

                    Thanks again.

                      I am running pfSense-2.0.1-RELEASE-i386

I go to System -> Packages, click on Available Packages tab and freeradius2 is the last of 4 packages whose name begins with "free".

I also see the freeradius2 package on a box with the NanoBSD install. See screenshot. The restricted package list means that freeswitch is not available but freeradius2 is not restricted.

I cannot explain why you would not be seeing this. Does your box have a good WAN connection? The dashboard reports 'You are on the latest version.'?

On the full install I referenced a little while ago, System -> Packages takes me to the Installed Packages tab. oragon, are you confusing that tab with the Available Packages tab?

                            hi,

i don't see it in the packages.

however, when i downloaded again the pfsense 2.0.1 from a different location/link in the download page i have seen it already.

i am not sure why that link (server gursus) I did not have that freeradius 2.

thanks for your help. appreciated it.

                            cheers

z3r0tech…i downloaded it at NYI.net from the download page. However, I figured out that it was not the resolution on my problem because when I did a fresh install again and executed this command <admin edit="" to="" remove="" harmful="" instructions="">it removes the freeradius 2 from the available packages. Looks like we are using the same procedure. Check my PM.</admin>

In case you haven't realised this script changes the package repository when you run it. I guess the repo at chudy.0fees.net was cloned before the freeradius 2 package was added. Which was ages ago. It also means you are not seeing any updates to any packages in that time.
If you really need to use that repo for the cache-boy package (which is really out of date) then make sure you rerun the script with privaterepository set to off to switch back to offical repo.

                                    Don't use that Lusca package.
