      Hi Pfsense…

Hope this issue would be solved in the 2.1 RC so I tried it in my Proxmox 2.2 KVM
Virtual Machine , but the AMD64 bit still hangs...

Haven't tried the 32 bit but think it would work...

      Intel DF77DH mini-itx + Intel 82579V + 82579L NICs...

      /Michael

From your post it sounds like 2.0.x also did the same thing, is that right?

I know there are people out there using pfSense in KVM/proxmox, but I haven't heard of any freezing like that. We're going to need a lot more detail about it than "it freezes" though.

            Hi Again…

Sorry i have described the problem on proxmox forum :
              http://forum.proxmox.com/threads/11843-Proxmox-2-2-Freebsd-8-3-AMD64-freezes-can-not-start-installation

Searched the Internet for a whole day now so it is properly a KVM  or the DH77DF intel board issue ....

I'll try to install 2.1 Beta in 32 bits this can be done :-)

I need it to run in KVM have done it for years on another Intel board , still to high load but CPU gets faster..

            /best Michael

I'm also having problems with the live-cd i386 dated nov14. When i try to install it under KVM it hangs on waiting for backend. When i use the version from nov7 it works. Btw this was with different KVM hosts and versions.

The installer hang is a known issue, but the ones from late on the 14th should be working.

                      Hi Michael

It would be interesting to hear about your VM's config - I guess you're not using virtio?
I'm not yet sure if the virtio driver is enabled in the builds yet

If you chose e1000 aka Intel NICs in the VM you're better off.
Proxmox' (weird) default is to use a RTL NIC for VMs…
(and even emulated in software: I wouldn't use them...)

If you can boot into a stock amd64 FreeBSd 8.3-RELEASE disc, that would help for confirmation.
Additionally don't forget that you can take screenshots from the Proxmox (Java-based) VM console if you want to show something here. :)

                        Hi Msi…

                        I can not boot into a Stock FreeBsd 8.3 64-bit , FreeNAS etc ....

check this link on Proxmox Forum : http://forum.proxmox.com/threads/11843-Proxmox-2-2-Freebsd-8-3-AMD64-freezes-can-not-start-installation

Testing the i386 , with a dual port Intel I350-T2 , seems to works fine...

                        /Michael
