Ubiquiti Unifi package for pfSense

I've gotten it to run. Requires some hacking in of things manually, looks like the post on Ubiquiti's forum covers everything you need to do.

Would it be possible to compile a package for Unifi? Or does it require too many modifications?

If there is enough interest we could make a pkg out of this.
I have a very rudimentary pkg done. With some mods and finetuning it could be made into a public pkg.
A bounty thread could be made as I have a dev at the office that would probably take this on in his spare time. -
i'd be interested in this. i'm running unifi and they are very good. couple it with freeradius on pfsense and you have a decent enterprise wireless system at a fraction of the cost.

Even though I'm interested in that too I'd like to point I do not recommend you building a package
containing the unifi server but rather something that sucks the package from their site.The unifi server is a proprietary software and their licensing terms do not explicitely mention that redistribution is allowed
(which is what you do by packaging and re-distributing it bundlet). Other OSS projects do similarly circumvent this with
packages that provide flash player ad in reality just do the download of required files.The EULA can be found by downloading the Mac or Windows package on their site which leads you to: http://www.ubnt.com/eula/
Building a UI isn't really necessary, maybe a mere link to the ubnt server (Port 8443) UI.

I believe a simple UI allowing the configuration of port and possibly a couple of other small details would be handy. Possibly a start/stop/restart depending on whether the package integrates it with the services or not. Also it seems to take a good while to start, so perhaps a small status would be handy in said UI as well if it were possible to add.Re: Packaging
I believe the way you described is how packages are handled generally for pfSense, at least through the Package manager.I would also love to have a simpler way of doing this.

doesn't that defeat the purpose? i think the idea ids that you run the daemon on pfsense and not anywhere else.

What he meant is that the UBNT server runs its own UI, this would be like packages like Darkstat, BandwidthD etc… where a link is provided to the UI of the locally running daemon. With a minimal config page to handle the very few runtime options.

Just as heads-up: Someone over at the Ubiquiti forums seems to hacking on a FreeBSD port of UniFi.
He or she is still encountering some issues, other than that this person has seen some success in preparing the port. -
Found this thread in a forum search and figured I'd ask if anyone has worked on this since the last posting? There seems to be some interest on both the Ubiquiti UniFi and pfSense forums.
