      I tried to do that- pkg_delete pcre-8.21, but when i run pkg_info it is still there?

      I believe I'm using the correct command.

        @marcelloc:

        Snort installs pcre 8.3 libs that breaks dansguardian.

        Try to install snort, remove prce manually on console and then install dansguardian.

        Can't all "main" packages be upgraded to pcre 8.3 ?

          dansguardian crashes with pcre 8.3

          I did found any fix for this yet. :(

            Any update on the PCRE issue? Tried several 2.1 updates but still have the same issue with Dans and Snort. Love 2.1 version but can't use to as I love Dans and Snort more..  ;)

              dansguardian patches are already submited to freebsd ports.

              After it, a pcre issues free version of dansguardian package version will be released.  :)

                  Port version is now on 2.12.0.2.

                  I'll try to push 2.12.0.3 as 2.12.0.2 may have security issues (memory leak)

                      For pfSense 2.1 along with the new dansguardian should I use squid3 (which is still beta) or stay on squid 2.7.9 ?

                      Can't recollect much but I believe I had some issues with squid3 not working on pfSense 2.1. Could be dansguardian causing the issue.. not sure. Kindly advise.

                        Dansguardian will work on both. Choose what works better on you setup.
